About the event
The Friday preceding Easter Sunday, known as “Good” or “Holy” Friday, commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ. Holy Friday, also known in English as Good Friday, commemorates that sacrifice—the day of Jesus’ crucifixion and death following the betrayal by his disciple Judas. The sorrow and solemnity of the days leading up to Easter are then transformed on Easter Sunday.
